The directors and instructions of our team each bring their own unique experiences from competitive STEM competitions, engineering and robotics programs, and personal passions to this organization. We believe that engineering should be for everyone and are here to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for problem-solving.

President
& Electrical Engineering Lead
​Robert is a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School and is passionate about engineering and problem solving, as shown through his efforts in JH and HS Science Olympiad where he accumulated 35 total medals, including 6 at the state level and 10 at national-level invitationals. He has placed in events such as Tower, Bridge, Astronomy, Geologic Mapping, and many more. As a member of the FIRST Robotics team, he gained hands-on experience in both the electrical and programming departments while heavily participating in outreach efforts, teaching 30+ students about circuitry and mechatronics over 3 weeks. Robert has extensive experience in web design and coding languages like HTML & CSS, JavaScript, and Java. Beyond STEM and academics, Robert’s love for music is reflected in his accomplishments as a 3-time All-Region Symphony violist, 2025 TMEA All-State violist, and viola instructor. He is also the Vice President & STEM Organizer for Students for Refugees. He enjoys pickleball, disc golf, and experimenting with microcontrollers and circuit design in his free time.
Robert Garcia

Co-President
& Computer Engineering Lead
Austin Yu is currently a sophomore attending Seven Lakes High School. He is currently a part of the computer science leadership team at his school and one of four members of SLHS UIL Computer Science team, representing his school at multiple levels of competition such as Districts and Regionals. In those competitions, he has notched multiple top finishes in both individual events and team events such as placing 10th and 1st overall in individual and team respectively at the most recent 2025 UIL District 19 meet. Additionally, he is currently competing in the USACO (USA Computing Olympiad) Silver division and has achieved a “specialist” title on Codeforces, an online coding platform. Lastly, he has extensive knowledge in Java, and also has some knowledge in Python, C++, and R, a programming language in which he uses in his personal research project. Outside of school, Austin enjoys playing basketball, playing video games, reading, and watching a multitude of sports.
Austin Yu

& Computer Engineering Co-Lead
​Archith Manduva is a driven high school sophomore with a strong passion for computer science, math, and hands-on STEM activities. He is currently competing in the Silver Division of the USA Computing Olympiad, has earned over 24 medals in Science Olympiad at the state, regional, and invitational levels, and is a member of both the Math Honor Society and the Computer Science Honor Society. He regularly participates in other computer science and math competitions, earning numerous accolades, and contributes to the machining and electrical divisions of Seven Lakes High School’s FIRST Robotics Team. Archith also has teaching experience as a former mathematics teaching assistant and has volunteered many hours at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land, educating young students about Earth Science. In his free time, he enjoys competitive programming—competing in Codeforces competitions, where he ranks in the top 15% of all active participants—as well as playing video games and watching TV shows.

Arya, a sophomore at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas, is deeply involved in technology and innovation. He is an active member of the SLHS TSA chapter’s Video Game Design team, having qualified for the state competition. Additionally, Arya is part of the SLHS Computer Science Club, where he has excelled in various Competitive Programming Competitions. In his free time, he enjoys experimenting with Arduinos and computer CPUs, drawing on his electrical expertise gained from the SLHS FRC Robotics team, 4639 RoboSpartans.
Arya Salem

Mechanical Engineering Lead
Peter is a current sophomore at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas. He is a member of the Seven Lakes Robotics team, where he works in the mechanical department, focusing on building and improving moving systems. He has dedicated many hours to helping his team qualify for the 2024 Robotics World Championship. Outside of school, he enjoys working on cars and engines with his dad, which has sparked a deep interest in mechanical engineering and hands-on projects. He is also passionate about computer science and is in the process of starting a coding initiative to teach younger students how to code and explore technology. In addition to his STEM interests, Peter is a former player for the Houston Dynamo youth soccer club and a devoted FC Barcelona fan. He also creates music under the artist name T4NG. Whether it's building robots, writing code, or making music, Peter brings energy and creativity to everything he does.
Peter Tang

Civil Engineering Lead
Aaron Wang is a current Sophmore attending Seven Lakes High School. He is a member of the Seven Lakes Quizbowl Team where he qualified and will be planning on going to nationals this summer. Aaron is also apart of the Seven Lakes Robotics Team where he specializes in the electrical department and is planning on going to state. Aaron is also apart of the Seven Lakes JV tennis team where he has competed and medaled in numerous tennis tournaments. His favorite hobbies include cooking with friends, playing pickleball, learning about natural geography, playing chess, and listening to Travis Scott.
Aaron Wang

Biological Engineering Lead
Surya Kiran is a current sophomore at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas. He is a member of the Seven Lakes Science Olympiad team, where he competes in events such as Entomology, Experimental Design, and Fossils. He has achieved a total of 19 medals in his Science Olympiad Career so far, along with 4 medaling placements and National Virtual competitions, along with a top 10 placement at the 2025 MIT Invitational. Surya Kiran is also a member of Seven Lakes Robotics, where he has spent numerous hours working on the electrical components for the 2025 bot of a 2024 Worlds qualifying team. He also enjoys playing tennis, a sport that has led him to the position of Court Lead for ACEing Autism's Katy branch. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family, listening to Golden Hour by JVKE, or watching tech videos on You tube.
Surya Kiran

Chemical Engineering Lead
Nevin James is currently a Sophomore at Seven Lakes High School. He is a 2x Science Olympiad State Champion, and has extensive experience in Science Olympiad in matters of astronomy, meteorology, geology, and wave physics . He is also on Seven Lakes HS Robotics, where he does machining for the team. He is a member of the Seven Lakes HS Orchestra, Spanish National Honor Society, National Honor Society,. In his free time, he likes following Formula 1 and casually playing basketball
Nevin James

Civil Engineering Co-Lead
Oluwatofolafun "Tofolafun" Jewesimi is a current sophomore at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas with a passion for engineering, computer science, and education. He has taken several engineering and computer science courses, and is currently working with C# to compete in national video game design competitions, as well as other events, through Technology Student Association. His interest in civil engineering has been shaped by hands-on school projects involving basic structural design, planning, and model construction. Tofolafun's STEM Journey began in junior high with First Robotics, and he continues to explore new ways to connect technical concepts with creativity. Outside of engineering, Tofolafun likes to work with Raspberry Pi, creative projects like board game design, and is a dedicated percussionist with over 5 years of experience, being a part of Seven Lakes' State Finalist Marching Band, receiving the highest rankings in multiple solo and ensemble pieces, as well as being selected for the 2023-2024 Freshman Region Band and 2024-2025 Region Bands and Orchestras.
